An arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels which
disturb ordinary bloodstream and oxygen flow.
Arteries are in charge of taking oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the mind. Veins
convey the oxygen-drained blood back to the lungs and heart. when an AVM upsets
this basic procedure, the encompassing tissues may not get enough oxygen, and the
influenced Arteries and veins can debilitate and break.
An arteriovenous abnormality can grow anyplace in your body including arm, leg,
 brain or spine.
The reason for AVMs isn’t clear but in can be either from birth or due to previous
 injury
AVMs in children mostly do not require any intervention as it can reduce on its own,
but if its persistent than it should be evaluated. Multiple treatment options like AVM
embolization, sclerotherapy or surgical excision are available according to the type
 and site of AVMs.
